Quick verdict: ElevenLabs is the most natural-sounding AI voice generator I have tested so far. In this ElevenLabs review, it handled English, Hindi, Roman Hindi and Urdu with near-human quality, and the free plan even lets you download audio. It is a strong pick for content creators, influencers and studios. Skip it only if you need a voice that matches a professional dubbing artist 100%.
Best for: YouTube, reels, podcasts, OTT and studio work · Not for: replacing a top dubbing artist · From: free, then $6/month · My score: 4.6 out of 5
I tested ElevenLabs hands-on on 2 October 2026 using the free plan. I tried 10 to 12 AI voices on two models, Eleven v3 and the brand-new Eleven v4, and ran the same test scripts I used for my Murf AI review: one in English, one in Hindi (Devanagari), one in Roman Hindi and one in Urdu. Below are my honest results on voice quality, Hindi and Urdu support, the ElevenLabs free plan, 2026 pricing, pros and cons, and who should pay for it.

What is ElevenLabs?
ElevenLabs is an AI voice platform. Its best-known feature is text to speech: you type or paste a script, choose a voice and a model, and generate realistic speech in seconds. It also offers voice cloning, dubbing, sound effects, speech to text, music and a Studio for long projects such as audiobooks.
The models matter. According to ElevenLabs, Eleven v3 supports 70+ languages, including Hindi and Urdu. On 28 September 2026 the company launched Eleven v4, which it describes as its most expressive model so far, with support for more than 90 languages and better voice cloning. I tested both.

ElevenLabs voice quality: how natural does it sound?
I rate ElevenLabs voice quality 9 out of 10 for naturalness, the highest score I have given any AI voice tool. The voices have real-sounding breathing, pacing and emotion, and most listeners would not guess they are AI in a YouTube video or a reel.
Pronunciation was perfect in my test. ElevenLabs read the year “2026” and the price “$19.99” exactly the way a person would.
The voice library is huge. You can filter by language, gender, age and category (Conversational, Narration, Characters, Social Media, Educational, Advertisement and Entertainment), preview any voice, and ElevenLabs even highlights the best voices for v4.

Eleven v4 audio tags
Eleven v4 lets you direct the delivery with audio tags written straight into the script, such as [happy], [thoughtful] or [excited]. You can also adjust Stability (more creative or more consistent delivery) and Similarity. This is how you set the tone of a voice, which was one of my favourite features.

ElevenLabs Hindi and Urdu test: Devanagari, Roman Hindi and Urdu
If you make content for Indian or Pakistani audiences, this is the most important part of this ElevenLabs review. My results:
- Hindi in Devanagari (हिंदी): perfect.
- Roman Hindi (Hindi typed in English letters, the way most of us type on WhatsApp): very good. In ElevenLabs, Roman Hindi and Devanagari both sounded perfect to me.
- Urdu in Urdu script (اردو): perfect.
This is a big difference from Murf. In my Murf AI test, Roman Hindi gave poor results and Urdu was not supported at all. ElevenLabs also has voices made for these languages, such as “Pari M, Relatable Hindi Friend” and “Reva, Soothing Urdu AI Companion”, which I used in these tests.

Tip: choose a voice made for your language (search “Hindi” or “Urdu” in the voice library) and use Eleven v3 or v4. Those multilingual models are the ones that support Hindi and Urdu.
ElevenLabs free plan: limits and downloads
The ElevenLabs free plan is genuinely useful, not just a demo:
- 10,000 credits every month, and they come back each month.
- Downloads work. I downloaded my Urdu voiceovers as MP3 files on the free plan.
- Output is MP3 at 44.1 kHz, 128 kbps.
- Up to 3 Studio projects.
- Everything I tried during my test was available for free.

There are two important limits, both from ElevenLabs’ official pages:
- No commercial license. You cannot use free-plan audio for commercial purposes, such as client work or monetised content. Every paid plan includes a commercial license.
- Attribution. If you publish free-plan audio, ElevenLabs asks you to credit it by adding “elevenlabs.io” or “11.ai” to the title.
How fast do credits go?
Credits are roughly one per character of text. My whole test, with a handful of short lines across several voices and two models, used about 1,200 credits (from 10,000 down to 8,768). Short scripts are cheap, but regenerating the same line many times uses credits quickly, so plan longer projects carefully. I also noticed a per-generation text limit of 5,000 characters on Eleven v3 and 10,000 characters on Eleven v4.

ElevenLabs pricing in 2026: every plan explained

Which ElevenLabs plan should you choose?
- Free is enough to test voices properly and for personal, non-commercial projects.
- Starter ($6) is the cheapest way to get a commercial license, for example for a monetised YouTube channel, plus instant voice cloning.
- Creator ($22) suits regular creators: four times the Starter credits, professional voice cloning and higher audio quality.
- Pro and above are for studios, agencies and apps with heavy usage.
Credits, cancelling and refunds
- On paid plans, unused credits roll over, up to twice your monthly quota.
- If you cancel, the plan runs until the end of the billing cycle, then moves to free, and unused credits are lost.
- Refunds are possible within 14 days of payment, but only if you have not used any credits in that period.
Paying from Pakistan or India
ElevenLabs accepts credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and UPI (India only). PayPal is not supported. In Pakistan, use a debit or credit card with international online payments switched on in your bank app before you subscribe.
ElevenLabs pros and cons
Pros
- The most natural AI voices I have tested (9/10)
- Perfect Hindi, very good Roman Hindi and perfect Urdu
- Many languages and accents, with voices made for each language
- Audio tags and sliders to set the tone and emotion
- Free plan includes downloads and 10,000 credits every month
- Very easy to use
- Cheap entry plan with a commercial license ($6)
Cons
- No commercial use on the free plan, and attribution required
- Credits run out quickly if you regenerate a lot
- Unused credits are lost when you cancel
- No PayPal payments
- Still not a full replacement for a professional dubbing artist
Honestly, I did not find much to dislike during my test. The cons above are mostly limits of the plans rather than problems with the voices.
Who should use ElevenLabs (and who should skip it)
ElevenLabs is a great fit for:
- Content creators making YouTube videos, reels and shorts
- Social media influencers who want a professional voiceover in English, Hindi or Urdu
- OTT creators and bigger studios. In my opinion, the quality is good enough for professional productions too
- Anyone creating content for Indian and Pakistani audiences, thanks to its Hindi, Roman Hindi and Urdu support
Who should skip it:
- Professional dubbing work that must sound 100% human. AI is not yet advanced enough to fully match a skilled dubbing artist. Still, I would say ElevenLabs matches about 90%, which is brilliant.
- Anyone who wants to use free-plan audio commercially. You will need at least the Starter plan.
ElevenLabs vs Murf: which sounds better?
I tested both tools with the same scripts, and ElevenLabs is easily the better choice for voice quality and languages. Here is how they compare (prices from each official pricing page, checked 1 to 2 October 2026):
| ElevenLabs | Murf | |
|---|---|---|
| My voice score | 9/10 | 7.5/10 |
| My overall score | 4.6/5 | 4/5 |
| Roman Hindi | Very good | Poor |
| Urdu | Perfect | Not supported |
| Free plan | 10,000 credits every month, downloads allowed | 10 minutes once, no downloads |
| Cheapest paid plan | $6/month | $29/month, or $19/month yearly |
Murf still has a simpler, timeline-style editor and slide integrations, which some trainers prefer. Read my full Murf AI review for details. For every test side by side, read my full Murf vs ElevenLabs comparison.
ElevenLabs FAQ
Is ElevenLabs free?
Yes. The free plan gives you 10,000 credits every month and lets you download audio. It does not include a commercial license, and you need to credit ElevenLabs when you publish.
Does ElevenLabs support Urdu and Hindi?
Yes. In my test, Urdu and Hindi both sounded perfect, and Roman Hindi was very good. Use Eleven v3 or v4 with a voice made for the language.
What is Eleven v4?
Eleven v4 is ElevenLabs’ newest text-to-speech model, launched on 28 September 2026. ElevenLabs says it is its most expressive model, with 90+ languages and audio tags for emotion and tone.
Can I use ElevenLabs voices on YouTube?
For monetised or commercial content, you need a paid plan. Every paid plan, starting with Starter at $6/month, includes a commercial license.
Can I pay for ElevenLabs from Pakistan?
ElevenLabs accepts credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay (plus UPI in India), but not PayPal. Use a card that allows international online payments.
Is this ElevenLabs review sponsored?
No. ElevenLabs did not pay for this review or see it before publishing. I tested it on a free account I created myself. Some links on AI Tool Wise may be affiliate links, which never change my score. You can read more in my affiliate disclosure.
Final verdict: is ElevenLabs worth it?
To sum up this ElevenLabs review: yes, it is worth it, and it gets 4.6 out of 5 from me. It produced the most natural voices I have tested, handled Hindi, Roman Hindi and Urdu brilliantly, and the free plan is generous enough to test everything properly, including downloads.
It loses a few points because free-plan audio cannot be used commercially, credits can disappear quickly when you regenerate, and it is not yet a 100% replacement for a professional dubbing artist. For content creators, influencers and even studios, though, ElevenLabs is the AI voice generator I would choose today. Start with the free plan, and move to Starter or Creator once you need a commercial license.
