Quick verdict: ElevenLabs Urdu is the best Urdu text to speech I have tested. Urdu written in Urdu script sounded perfect in my test, and the free plan lets you try it and download MP3 files without paying. The catch: you must pick the right model (Eleven v3 or v4) and an Urdu voice, and free-plan audio can’t be used commercially.
Best for: YouTubers, teachers and storytellers making Urdu voiceovers · Not for: people who need more than about 10 free minutes a month · From: free, then $6/month for a commercial license · My ElevenLabs test score: 4.6 out of 5
Most ElevenLabs guides only talk about English. This ElevenLabs Urdu guide is for people in Pakistan, India and anywhere else who want natural Urdu audio for YouTube, reels, lessons or audiobooks. I tested ElevenLabs myself on the free plan on 2 October 2026, including Urdu in Urdu script, Hindi in Devanagari and Roman Hindi. On 19 October 2026 I checked the official model list, the Urdu voices in the voice library and the pricing page again, so everything below is current.
If you want the full picture of the tool (English voices, editor, cloning, pros and cons), read my full ElevenLabs review. This page focuses only on Urdu.
Does ElevenLabs support Urdu?
Yes. ElevenLabs supports Urdu, but not in every model. This is the mistake most beginners make: they paste Urdu text, the model on screen is an older one, and the result sounds wrong or doesn’t work. According to the official ElevenLabs models page, only the two newest models include Urdu:
Checked on the official ElevenLabs models page on 19 October 2026.
| Model | Languages | Urdu | Hindi | Max characters per generation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eleven v4 | 90+ | Yes | Yes | 10,000 |
| Eleven v3 | 70+ | Yes | Yes | 5,000 |
| Multilingual v2 | 29 | No | Yes | 10,000 |
| Flash v2.5 | 32 | No | Yes | 40,000 |
So for Urdu, choose Eleven v4 (newest, and it takes longer text in one go) or Eleven v3. Multilingual v2 and Flash are fine for Hindi, but they don’t list Urdu.
My ElevenLabs Urdu test results
On 2 October I ran the same short test line in three ways, using voices made for each language. On 19 October I went back and tested a second Urdu voice and Roman Urdu. Here is what I heard:
- Test dates
- 2 October 2026, plus a second Urdu test on 19 October 2026
- Plan
- Free plan (10,000 credits per month)
- Models
- Eleven v3 and Eleven v4
- Urdu voices
- “Reva, Soothing Urdu AI Companion” and “Saira, Rich, Poetic Urdu Storyteller”
- Hindi voice
- “Pari M, Relatable Hindi Friend”
| How the text was written | My result |
|---|---|
| Urdu in Urdu script (اردو) | Perfect |
| Hindi in Devanagari (हिंदी) | Perfect |
| Roman Hindi (English letters) | Very good |
| Roman Urdu (English letters) | Very good |
| Saira voice, naturalness | 9/10 |

Second test: the Saira voice and Roman Urdu
On 19 October I tested Saira, the poetic Urdu storyteller voice, on Eleven v4 with this line: “السلام علیکم، AI Tool Wise میں خوش آمدید۔ آج ہم دیکھ رہے ہیں کہ یہ آواز کتنی قدرتی لگتی ہے۔” I gave Saira 9 out of 10 for naturalness, and she said the English brand name “AI Tool Wise” correctly in the middle of the Urdu sentence.

Then I typed the same line in Roman Urdu: “Assalam o Alaikum. AI Tool Wise mein khush aamdeed. Aaj hum dekh rahe hain ke ye awaaz kitni qudrati lagti hai.” The result was very good. So if you write your scripts the way you type on WhatsApp, you can paste them as they are.

For comparison, Murf doesn’t support Urdu at all, and Speechify Studio’s Urdu was good but not at the same level in my tests. You can see all three side by side in my list of the best AI voice generators for Hindi and Urdu.
ElevenLabs Urdu voices: the 8 in the voice library
A voice made for Urdu matters as much as the model. An English voice reading Urdu can sound like a foreigner reading it. When I filtered the ElevenLabs voice library by Urdu on 19 October 2026, it showed these 8 voices:
| Voice | Style (from the voice library) |
|---|---|
| Saira | Rich, poetic Urdu storyteller (narration, shayari, audiobooks). I tested it: 9/10 |
| Kamran M | Dramatic and suspenseful (horror and thriller stories) |
| Reva | Warm Urdu narration |
| Reva | Soothing Urdu AI companion (the voice I tested) |
| Zafar | Warm, deep, measured |
| Ayesha | Calm, gentle, mellow |
| Sana | Warm, amused, expressive |
| Nimra | Calm, gentle, mellow |
I tested Reva and Saira myself. The other descriptions come from the voice library, and new community voices get added often, so filter by Urdu yourself to see the latest list. Play the free preview of each voice before you spend credits.

How to make Urdu audio in ElevenLabs, step by step
- Sign up free on ElevenLabs. Signing in with Google is the quickest way. No card is needed for the free plan.
- Find an Urdu voice. Open Voices, click the Language filter and choose Urdu. Play a few previews and add the one you like to your voices.
- Open Text to Speech and select that voice.
- Change the model to Eleven v4 or Eleven v3. Check this every time. If the model doesn’t support Urdu, the result won’t sound right.
- Paste your text in Urdu script. Start with one or two lines to test, so you don’t waste credits.
- Click Generate and listen. If one word sounds wrong, change only that line and generate again.
- Download the MP3. Downloads work on the free plan. Mine came out as MP3 at 44.1 kHz, 128 kbps.

Tips for natural ElevenLabs Urdu audio
- Urdu script is safest, but Roman Urdu works too. Urdu script gave me a perfect result, and Roman Urdu was very good. For an important project, use Urdu script. If one word in Roman Urdu sounds off, write just that word in Urdu script.
- Use proper punctuation. Commas and full stops (، ۔) give the voice natural pauses. One very long sentence with no punctuation is harder for any voice to read well.
- Test hard words first. Names, English brand names and numbers can be read in more than one way. If one sounds wrong, try writing it the way you want it spoken.
- Keep each generation short at first. A short test costs only a few hundred credits. Generate the full script once the voice and settings sound right.
- Try the stability slider. Lower stability makes the voice more expressive, higher makes it calmer and more even. For lessons and narration, a steadier setting usually works better.
Tip: for Pakistani audiences, choose an Urdu voice even if your script is simple. Hindi and Urdu sound similar in daily speech, but a voice made for Urdu is built for Urdu words and pronunciation, which is exactly what your listeners expect.
ElevenLabs Urdu on the free plan: what you can and can’t do
The free plan is enough to test Urdu properly and even make short personal projects:
- 10,000 credits every month, and they reset each month. ElevenLabs says that is roughly 10 minutes of text to speech.
- Credits are about one per character. My whole test, with several short lines across different voices and two models, used about 1,200 credits.
- MP3 downloads work.

But there are two rules you must know before you upload anything:
- No commercial use. The free plan has no commercial license. I asked ElevenLabs support directly, and they confirmed that free-plan audio is for non-commercial use only. So a monetised YouTube channel, client voiceovers or ads need a paid plan.
- Attribution. If you publish free-plan audio, ElevenLabs asks you to credit it, for example by adding “elevenlabs.io” to the title.
ElevenLabs pricing for Urdu users in 2026
Urdu costs the same as English. You pay for credits, not for the language.
Prices checked on the official ElevenLabs pricing page on 19 October 2026. Prices are in USD; taxes may be added depending on your country.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly (per month) | Credits per month | About this many minutes | Commercial use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | n/a | 10,000 | 10 | No |
| Starter | $6 | $5 | 30,000 | 30 | Yes |
| Creator | $22first month $11 | $18.33 | 121,000 | 121 | Yes |
| Pro | $99 | $82.50 | 600,000 | 600 | Yes |
Which plan should an Urdu creator choose?
- Just testing or personal use: stay on Free.
- A monetised YouTube channel with a few videos a month: Starter. It’s the cheapest plan with a commercial license, and 30 minutes a month covers several short videos.
- Daily videos or audiobooks in Urdu: Creator, for about four times the credits.
Higher plans (Scale and Business) exist for teams and studios. See the full table in my ElevenLabs review.

ElevenLabs Urdu FAQ
Is ElevenLabs Urdu free?
Yes, you can use ElevenLabs Urdu free with 10,000 credits a month (about 10 minutes). Free audio is for non-commercial use only and needs attribution.
Which ElevenLabs model is best for Urdu?
Eleven v4 or Eleven v3. These are the only models whose official language list includes Urdu. Multilingual v2 and Flash v2.5 don’t.
Which Urdu voice should I use?
I tested two. “Reva, Soothing Urdu AI Companion” gave a perfect result, and “Saira, Rich, Poetic Urdu Storyteller” scored 9/10 and is great for stories and narration. Kamran M is made for suspense stories, but I haven’t tested it, so play its preview first.
Can ElevenLabs read Roman Urdu?
Yes. In my 19 October test, Roman Urdu with the Saira voice on Eleven v4 was very good. Urdu script was still a little better, so use it when quality matters most.
Can I use ElevenLabs Urdu voices on YouTube?
For a monetised channel you need a paid plan (Starter at $6/month is the cheapest with a commercial license). Free-plan audio is non-commercial only.
Does ElevenLabs have Urdu speech to text too?
Yes, and I tested it. It understood my Urdu words, but wrote them in Hindi (Devanagari) script even with Urdu selected. For Urdu script, Notta did better. See my Urdu speech to text test.
Is this ElevenLabs Urdu guide sponsored?
No. I tested ElevenLabs on the free plan with my own account. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which never change my results. Read my affiliate disclosure.
Final verdict: is ElevenLabs good for Urdu?
To sum up this ElevenLabs Urdu guide: yes, it’s the best Urdu text to speech I have tested. Urdu script sounded perfect, Roman Urdu was very good, there are 8 voices made for Urdu, and the free plan is enough to test it and download MP3 files. Just remember three things: pick Eleven v3 or v4, pick an Urdu voice, and upgrade to a paid plan before you use the audio commercially.
