Quick verdict: In my Murf vs ElevenLabs test, ElevenLabs wins. It sounded more natural (9/10 vs 7.5/10), handled Roman Hindi and Urdu far better, has a more useful free plan and a cheaper entry price. Murf is still a good choice if you want a simple timeline editor and Canva, PowerPoint or Google Slides integrations for training videos and presentations.
Choose ElevenLabs if: you want the most natural voices, Hindi, Roman Hindi or Urdu, or a low budget · Choose Murf if: you build slide-based training content and like a timeline editor

How I compared Murf and ElevenLabs
- Test dates
- Murf: 1 October 2026 · ElevenLabs: 2 October 2026
- Plans
- Free plan on both tools
- English script
- “Welcome to AI Tool Wise. Today we are testing how natural this voice sounds. Can it handle numbers like 2026 and $19.99? Let’s find out together.”
- Other scripts
- The same short line in Hindi (Devanagari) and Roman Hindi on both tools, plus Urdu on ElevenLabs
- Voices tried
- Murf: 7 to 8 · ElevenLabs: 10 to 12
- Models
- Murf Gen 2 voices · ElevenLabs Eleven v3 and v4
Voice quality: which sounds more natural?
Winner: ElevenLabs. This was the clearest difference in my Murf vs ElevenLabs test.
- ElevenLabs (9/10): the most natural AI voices I have tested. Breathing, pacing and emotion sound real, and with Eleven v4 audio tags like [happy] or [thoughtful] you can direct the tone of each line.
- Murf (7.5/10): clean, clear and pleasant, with good pauses. Good enough for most YouTube videos and courses, but it sounds slightly more “produced”, especially in longer or emotional lines.
Both tools read the tricky parts of my script, the year “2026” and the price “$19.99”, correctly.

Hindi, Roman Hindi and Urdu: the biggest difference
Winner: ElevenLabs, by a wide margin. If you create content for Indian or Pakistani audiences, this section alone may decide it for you.
| Language test | ElevenLabs | Murf |
|---|---|---|
| Hindi in Devanagari | Perfect | Good |
| Roman Hindi | Very good, sounded as good as Devanagari | Poor, did not understand the text well |
| Urdu in Urdu script | Perfect | Not in Murf’s language list |
Roman Hindi matters because it is how most people in India and Pakistan actually type. With ElevenLabs you can paste a script the way you wrote it on WhatsApp. With Murf, you need to convert it to Devanagari first. For Urdu, Murf is simply not an option today.

Free plan: Murf vs ElevenLabs
Winner: ElevenLabs.
| ElevenLabs free | Murf free | |
|---|---|---|
| Allowance | 10,000 credits every month | 10 minutes of voice generation, one time |
| Resets? | Yes, monthly | No. The trial ends when the 10 minutes are used |
| Download audio | Yes, I downloaded MP3 files | No, downloads need a paid plan |
| Commercial use | No. Attribution required when publishing | No commercial rights |

Neither free plan allows commercial use, so for a monetised channel or client work you will need a paid plan on either tool.
Murf vs ElevenLabs pricing in 2026
Prices from each official pricing page: Murf checked 1 October 2026, ElevenLabs checked 2 October 2026. Taxes may be added depending on your country.
| Level | ElevenLabs | Murf |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0, 10,000 credits a month | $0, 10 minutes once |
| Entry paid plan | Starter: $6/month ($5 yearly), 30,000 credits, commercial license | Creator: $29/month ($19 yearly), 2 hrs of voice a month, commercial rights |
| Creator level | Creator: $22/month (first month $11; $18.33 yearly), 121,000 credits | Creator: $29/month ($19 yearly) |
| Business level | Pro: $99/month ($82.50 yearly), 600,000 credits | Business: $99/month ($66 yearly), 8 hrs of voice a month |
| Teams | Scale $299 (3 seats), Business $990 (10 seats) | Enterprise, custom price |
ElevenLabs is cheaper to start with: $6 a month gets you a commercial license, while Murf’s first paid plan is $19 a month on yearly billing. The two tools measure usage differently (ElevenLabs in credits, roughly one per character; Murf in hours of voice generation), so the best value at higher tiers depends on how much audio you produce.
Watch out on Murf: its free trial unlocks Business features. Emphasis, Variability and “Say It My Way” are not in the cheaper Creator plan, so don’t fall for a feature you can’t keep. Watch out on ElevenLabs: regenerating the same line many times uses credits quickly, and unused credits are lost if you cancel.
Voice cloning, editor and integrations
Voice cloning
Winner: ElevenLabs. ElevenLabs includes instant voice cloning from the $6 Starter plan and professional voice cloning from Creator. On Murf, custom voice clones are an Enterprise add-on, so they are out of reach for most creators.
Editor
It depends on how you work. Murf Studio splits your script into blocks on a timeline, which feels natural if you build videos or presentations scene by scene. ElevenLabs focuses on a clean text-to-speech screen with audio tags, stability and similarity sliders, plus Studio projects for long-form audio. I found both easy; ElevenLabs felt very easy.
Integrations
Winner: Murf. Murf connects with Canva on the Creator plan, and with PowerPoint and Google Slides on the Business plan. That is useful for trainers and corporate teams who live in slide decks.

Which should you choose?
Choose ElevenLabs if you:
- want the most natural voices for YouTube, reels, podcasts or professional productions
- create content in Hindi, Roman Hindi or Urdu
- want a free plan you can actually download from, or a $6 commercial plan
- want to clone your own voice without an enterprise contract
Choose Murf if you:
- make training videos, courses or presentations and like working scene by scene on a timeline
- need Canva, PowerPoint or Google Slides integrations
- work mainly in English and prefer Murf’s editor style
For most creators, especially in India and Pakistan, my pick is ElevenLabs.
